SKIN BOOSTERS

Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to improve skin quality, hydration and overall appearance rather than significantly changing facial shape or adding traditional structural volume. Depending on the product used, skin boosters may contain ingredients such as hyaluronic acid or other biocompatible substances designed to support the skin.

At our clinic, the treatment is selected according to your skin concerns, goals and suitability. Different products work in different ways, which is why your treatment plan will be personalised.

Some clients notice improvements in hydration and skin appearance relatively quickly, while other benefits develop gradually as the treatment takes effect. Some skin boosters are performed as a course of treatments, while others may be suitable as a standalone treatment with maintenance appointments. At ELIA CLINIC, we don’t believe in a one-size fits all approach.

Skin Boosters FAQs

What are skin boosters?

Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to improve skin quality, hydration and overall appearance rather than significantly changing facial shape or adding traditional structural volume.

Depending on the product used, skin boosters may contain ingredients such as hyaluronic acid or other biocompatible substances designed to support the skin.

At ELIA Clinic, the treatment is selected according to your skin concerns, goals and suitability.

Skin boosters can be used to target concerns such as:

  • Dehydrated or dull-looking skin
  • Fine lines
  • Reduced skin elasticity
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Loss of skin firmness
  • Tired-looking skin
  • Early signs of ageing

The exact benefits depend on the specific product and treatment protocol used.

No. Although some skin boosters contain hyaluronic acid, they are generally designed to improve skin quality rather than create significant structural volume or facial contouring.

Dermal fillers are primarily used to restore or add volume and define specific facial features, whereas skin boosters focus more on the quality and appearance of the skin.

Depending on the product and your individual needs, skin boosters may be suitable for areas including:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Décolletage
  • Hands

Your treatment area will be discussed during your consultation based on your concerns and the product being used.

The product is introduced into the skin using a series of small injections or another appropriate delivery technique, depending on the treatment. The ingredients are then designed to work within the treated area to support hydration and/or other aspects of skin quality.

Different products work in different ways, which is why your treatment plan will be personalised rather than using the same product for every client.

You may feel a small pinch or sting during the injections. Some products may contain a local anaesthetic to improve comfort, while additional numbing may be used depending on the treatment.

Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or small bumps can occur afterwards.

Skin boosters generally involve minimal downtime, but the treated area can temporarily appear red, swollen or uneven immediately following treatment. Small injection marks or bumps may also be visible for a short period. We recommend allowing your skin time to settle and following the aftercare advice provided following your appointment.

The number of treatments depends on the product being used, your skin condition and your individual goals.

Some skin boosters are performed as a course of treatments, while others may be suitable as a standalone treatment with maintenance appointments.

During your consultation, we’ll recommend a treatment schedule based on your skin rather than automatically prescribing the same course to everyone.

This varies depending on the product and your individual response.

Some clients notice improvements in hydration and skin appearance relatively quickly, while other benefits develop gradually as the treatment takes effect.

There isn’t one fixed timeframe because longevity varies according to the product used, treatment area, number of sessions, lifestyle and individual response.

Yes. Skin boosters can sometimes form part of a wider treatment plan alongside treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections, microneedling or other skin treatments.

However, treatments aren’t automatically suitable to combine at the same appointment. We’ll assess your skin and treatment history and advise you on the safest and most appropriate timing.

Absolutely. Skin quality isn’t gender-specific, and skin boosters can be suitable for both men and women.

Your treatment will be based on your individual skin concerns and desired outcome rather than gender.

Before your appointment, let us know about any relevant medical conditions, allergies, medications, previous aesthetic treatments or concerns that may affect your suitability.

We recommend arriving with clean skin and following any specific preparation advice provided for your particular treatment.

Skin boosters aren’t suitable for everyone.

Your suitability will be assessed during your consultation, taking into account factors such as your medical history, allergies, medications, pregnancy or breastfeeding, active skin conditions or infections and previous reactions to injectable treatments.

If we don’t feel the treatment is appropriate for you, we’ll explain why and discuss suitable alternatives where appropriate.

It is not a legal requirement to have a consultation for a skin booster. However, a consultation allows us to understand your skin concerns, assess the area being treated and determine which product and treatment approach would be most appropriate.

At ELIA Clinic, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. The aim is to select a treatment that addresses what your skin actually needs.

Before Your Appointment

To help your appointment run smoothly and give you the best possible results, please read the following advice before you visit.

  • Come with your questions. Every appointment begins with a consultation, so bring any concerns you have and we’ll talk them through before anything goes ahead.
  • Let us know about any relevant medical conditions, allergies, medications, previous aesthetic treatments or concerns that may affect your suitability.
  • We recommend arriving with clean skin and following any specific preparation advice provided for your particular treatment.
  • Do not stop prescribed medication unless advised to do so by the healthcare professional who prescribed it.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please let us know, as this will be taken into account when assessing your suitability.
  • If you have an active skin condition or infection, please contact us before attending.
  • If you’ve had a previous reaction to an injectable treatment, please let us know before your appointment.
  • If you’re planning other treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections or microneedling, let us know so we can advise you on the safest and most appropriate timing.

Above all, my aim is for your appointment to be a calm, comfortable and luxurious experience where you feel fully informed, relaxed and confident in your treatment.

Aftercare Advice

Following your facial, your skin may feel slightly warm, pink or sensitive, particularly after dermaplaning or a chemical peel. These effects usually settle quickly. To ensure optimal healing and results, please follow the guidance below.

  • Avoid touching, rubbing or massaging the treated areas, or applying any products to them, for at least 24 hours to allow the skin to heal properly.
  • Small injection marks or bumps are normal and usually settle within a short period.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting and activities that significantly increase body temperature for 24 hours.
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, sunbeds and direct sunbathing for at least 24 hours.
  • Avoid alcohol and vaping for 24 hours following treatment, as this may increase bruising or delay healing.
  • Avoid aspirin or similar medications (unless prescribed), as these can increase the risk of bruising or bleeding.
  • Avoid other skin treatments such as microneedling until we’ve advised you on the safest and most appropriate timing.
  • We recommend allowing your skin time to settle before judging your results.
  • Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water to support recovery and maintain healthy skin.
  • Some clients notice improvements in hydration relatively quickly, while other benefits develop gradually.
  • Please follow any individual advice given during your appointment, and if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Above all, my aim is for your appointment to be a calm, comfortable and luxurious experience where you feel fully informed, relaxed and confident in your treatment.
